Dive deeply into the fascinating tool of K’iche’-based Mayan astrology, an ancient system for guidance and divination. In this retreat you will work closely with the Mayan Calendar and the foundation for the sacred fire ceremony through hands-on and interactive experience. Through instructional class time and a personal reading with Mark, you will acquire insight and tools that will serve you greatly on your path. As the stronghold of the living Maya, beautiful Lake Atitlan makes for the idyllic setting for this work.
The Mayan sacred calendar (Chol Q’ij) is an amazing tool for transformation, allowing us to take a profound look into the energies you were born with including both your strengths and your challenges. Understanding the ways in which your natural energies flow helps empower you to lead a more fulfilling life. The Mayan Cosmovision retreat is designed to guide you through the process of finding the nawal for a Gregorian date and extrapolating that information to provide a divination through the “Mayan Cross” style reading. We’ll study the properties of each nawal and the corresponding number system, eventually learning how to make predictions for relationships. By the end of the retreat, you will be able to create a comprehensive Mayan astrology reading for yourself and others.
The retreat includes approximately 20 hours of instruction spread over 6 days of the 7 night retreat. In order to ensure plenty of personalized attention and a small intimate setting, this retreat is open to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants. There is ample free time to enjoy and explore all that Villa Sumaya and Lake Atitlan have to offer. Optional add-ons range from healing sessions at our on-site Harmony Spa, a visit to a colorful craft market to a sunrise kayak paddle with a stunning volcano backdrop.
